Now you've done it -- I LIKE tapioca pudding and must object to your association of a good food product with wimpy, wishy-washy RINO Michael Medved. He really ought to stick to movie reviews.
Thin gruel maybe?
Anyway, there are a handful of people who fit the bill. The thing we have to ask is: "Who will more likely attract a majority of American voters - someone like Rush Limbaugh or someone like Ronald Reagan?" We actually have to win in order to advance our agenda. Politics is about winning, and it is about supporting those who can win elections.
Don't get me wrong. I love Rush and he serves a valuable purpose. However, even he admitted his job is to get higher ratings, not win elections.
...in this greatest nation on God's green earth.
Could'nt you have used vanilla instead of tapioca? I like tapioca pudding.
I understand the point perfectly. I also say you are wrong, and have bought into the rhetoric of our enemies for whom *any* criticism is sufficient to disqualify us.
Rush is a good deal LESS bombastic than his liberal counterparts, but because people like you accept the left's whining and bitching uncritically, and even worse propagate it, the manufactured perception is counted as reality. If people like you would challenge the critics instead of agreeing to the finery of the emperor's new clothes, the vast middle might start voting a deliberated opinion rather than an advertising campaign.
It makes no sense to insist on "winning" if you have to promote self-destructive policies to masses of functional illiterates to do so.
The greatest sin of Rush Limbaugh was educating the American people to the corruption of the democrats in the early nineties. Is it now his fault the republicans pissed away their advantage by trying to become the "new" democrats instead of solidifying the wave he started? Does it make sense to return to the same bull$h!t excuses that kept republicans in the minority for forty years?
Screw "detente'." Come back when you have something more than a hypothetical "square triangle" to offer.
Names!
You lose right there. You assume the two behaviors and courses of action are mutually exclusive. They are not. You have no idea how much challenging of the critics people like me do. People like me get a lot accomplished and plenty of people converted - thank you very much. However, people like me can do all the challenging we want until we are blue in the face, but if we don't get people elected who share our agenda, then conservatism makes no progress.
And no, with all due respect, I don't think you do get it. Again, nobody is condoing the promotion of "self-destructive policies" to the masses. Just the opposite. We are appealing to the values we all hold in common - the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness which includes limited government and an emphasis on individual rights. When presented properly - we win.
In the end, we will have to agree to disagree.
That's better!!!
I wonder if Sam Adams was ‘moderate’ enough for Mr. Medved?
Did you even read the article? It was a rebuke of moderation in policy, if anything.
When liberal fakes like Medved are whining about the “tone,” it’s time once again to ratchet things up a few more notches.
When liberal fakes like Medved are whining about the “tone,” it’s time once again to ratchet things up a few more notches.
That’s racist you idiot. Sheesh.
No you don't. If what you "accomplish" were worth having, the left would oppose you as viciously as they do real conservatives.
He said “a more conservative stance”.....what is liberal about that?? Sounding mean like the left will get us nowhere.
BULLFEATHERS!Fight fire with fire,we have tried this silly assed “Moderate” tone and look what its got us.Very few of the republicans have any backbone whatsoever and its sickening.I read medveds statement and it sure sounds to me as more of the same go along to get along mentallity that has just served us sooo wellll these past years.Come on and get a clue.
Truest statement of the day! Thank you for posting that
Did the MSM and the left "moderate" their attacks on Bush and republicans? Nope.
Did the MSM and the left just win resounding victories going radical on Bush's arse? Yup.
Hey its coming from medved. No way it or he is conservative.Nothing this guy has to say interest me but to let anything this guy says slide by just aint happening.
