The girls are getting pregnant because it is part of their standard now. That is...have a baby, get Welfare checks, free food, etc. It is how so many of these families exist and continue to have children out of wedlock. It is all about the free government money. And since Obama promised them more money/free health care, etc., they are more inclined to make themselves and their families eligible for assistance by having more children.

Years ago a girl I worked with (who only worked part time) had two illegitimate kids and told all of us in the office she wanted another and was looking for someone so she could become pregnant. The reason...she admitted...it would increase her welfare payments and food stamp allotment if she had more kids!!! That was in the 1980's. So this behavior is well-ingrained and encouraged in these dependent families.

I find it interesting that so many here are espousing additional “rules” (read that government intervention and expansion) into these girls’ lives.

Why not a hands off approach? The government is no longer going to feed and house you or add to your (or your Mama’s) benefits if you become pregnant out of wedlock? Any child under the age of 21 in the home who gets pregnant before marriage gets only emergency medicaid to pay for the birth of the baby (such as Illegal Aliens receive) and is eligible for WIC but no new AFDC check or increase in Food Stamps. In other words, Big Mama loses if she allows Little Mama to become a Little Mama.

I worked for Welfare, Food Stamps, Medicaid and the SCHIPs program for 25 years in two States. If Big Mama gets HER benefits cut for neglecting the sex education of her children (whether they move out of the house or not), she will use her influence to keep her children from having or making a baby.

Child Support Enforcement could change its emphasis to making sure the Baby Daddy marries the Baby Mama before the Baby Baby is born.

LESS Government means MORE Big Mama Rules.
