Remember it’s still considered honorable for an ex-president to withold criticism of successors.
Of course with Clinton, Carter etc one could be forgiven for forgetting that !
But it’s OK for ex-VPs to take a public stand.
Go Cheney, it’s a long overdue fight back. How he must laugh at this White House’s thin skin about its critics :)
