This is a progress of sorts. MSM gave up on repeatedly failed attempt for character assassination of Palin. They tried hard to turn Palin into another Quayle. Now that it backfired, they are finally talking policy issues with Palin.

Why the lack of interest in building this pipeline among contractors? I suspect it’s because the potential supply of NG in the contiguous states would keep the price of NG too low to justify the cost of Alaskan NG transported... with shale gas becoming increasingly economical to produce— who needs Alaskan NG? They are capping new NG wells in N TX today because the demand just isn’t there.

Yep. The character and tabloidization of Palin has backfired, so now the new talking points is to scrutinize her record.
Palin got the ball rolling on the pipeline after 30 years of it being held up due to politics and special-interests. Now it's Parnell's job to finish the job. Whether or not Parnell comes through on his end is his problem now, not Palin's.

Well, if I remember correctly, the reason Sarah Palin came up with this plan was because the major oil companies were dithering on the pipeline project. She went around them to try to get it going. I’d be interested to know if this study was done at the behest of any of those major companies that got shut out, and whose favorite politicians are no longer in office to make sure things go their way.
