Note to the GOP “Leadership”: Stand back and watch just how the Dims establish and execute party loyalty among their caucus membership. Joe Lieberman will be lucky to come out of this with much more than a dank, mildewed janitor’s closet for an office, a stripped-down staff, and nary a committee membership. One thing I have to give the Dims is they know how to maintain discipline in the ranks.

You may be right. But why make it easy for them? Rather than take the negative tack, why not applaud Joe Lieberman. The man may be a democrat, but I believe his country still comes first.

...like Joe Lieberman ...

Me, too. Every once in awhile he does the right thing even if it gets him nowhere. That would be an occasional flash of statesmanship.

I am sure Joe will be lauded on all the shows this evening as being a Maverick, Speaking Truth to Power, Having the Courage of His Convictions, his bi-partisanship, etc. I can’t wait to hear it all.

Let me know if you're right. I only wish...

Doesn’t Joe believe in choice and competition and hope and change for the mere cost of $1,000,000,000,000.00

There isn’t going to be a filibuster because the Dems will simply change the rules. Remember, the ends always justify the means with liberals & fascists. Fifty votes is all that this is going to require for passage.

I'm fearful that you are correct about the Democrats' propensity to use the "Reconciliation" process in an ends-justifies-the-means manner.

Of course, in 2005, when the subject was the confirmation of federal judges and--more to the point--the GOP was in power, the Democrats warned Republicans sternly against the use of the so-called "nuclear option," as its use would inevitably "blow up the Senate" and destroy the last vestige of remaining comity and cooperation between senators of different parties...

Agreed. Joe talks a good game but rarely follows through. After what the Dems did to him in 2006 (and the help he got from Republicans in his win as an “independent”), you’d think he would have at least sat with the Republicans to prevent the Dems from controlling both the House and Senate. I’ll believe his “no” vote when it’s recorded and not a moment sooner. Ditto for Snowe the rest of the RINOs.

Lieberman is a liberal most of the time, but he has got more balls & courage & spine than most of the Repubs, including Collins, Snowe, McAmnesty & Grahamnesty. Personally I cannot understand why Lieberman just doesn't bolt the demoRAT party, given the rabid anti-Jewish, anti-Israel bias of 0bozo & his entire cesspool administration, as well as now the socialist health care debacle that 0bozo & most of the demoRATs are trying to slam down our throats.

Go Joe Go!!!!!

Similar posts were made about Joe till he went to Camp David and they gave him the vp nominee and he then voted against upholding the Clinton impeachment.

Lead the way to the exodus, Joe. You're a good man. Enlighten the other Dims, please.

Thank you!
