$1.7 million is a pretty big number. But I really don’t see a way that it can be determined that this money is going strictly for Obama’s defense of the BC court challenges. Some of it is for sure. All of it - I doubt. Most of it - who knows? Anyone that knows the answer should post the rationale. It would nice to know that he has really spent that kind of money to hide his birth information.

Whatever the sum, it's a hellofalot more than the cost of a Birth Certificate...

The big point is that obama has so far spent $1,700,000 with law firms to keep all his past history hidden. The birth certificate is just one facet of his past, but they are just as determined to hide all his history. Even he knows that there is very detrimental information out there. And the birthers are tagged as kooks?

Doesn’t matter if $1 or $1 billion have been spent in “defense” against eligibility questions, the figure should be ZERO. If 0bama is eligible, under the US Constitution and the laws at the time, then it should be a matter that requires no legal representation at all to clarify. Simply release the original birth certificate (his opponent did, as have other candidates over the years). This isn’t about privacy, it is about hiding something. Apparently is it “something” explosive, as who would spend any significant money to hide that his mother had an STD when he was born?
