Where I live, it is legal to shoot and kill coyotes if they are on your property, even if you are in city limits. Coyote hunting permits are also issued at many different times of the year.

Unless things changed, all that's needed for coyotes is a small game license if you're off your own property (nuisance law applies).

I haven't seen them on my own property, but they are around. I saw one in Ann Arbor city limits.
