North Carolina voters are not very happy with their representation and tend to think the country is on the wrong track, a poll released Friday by Elon University shows.
Elon polled more than 700 randomly selected adults between Monday and Thursday, asking if they approved of the job being done by President Barack Obama, Sens. Kay Hagan and Richard Burr and Gov. Bev Perdue.
Almost 60 percent of those polled said they think things in the country are on the wrong track; 38.9 percent felt strongly that the county is headed in the wrong direction. Their reasons seemed to be rooted in the recession, with 50.7 percent citing the economy as the most important issue facing North Carolina.
Almost half of those polled, 47 percent, said they disapprove of the job being done by Perdue. She had only a 36 percent approval rating.
The president did not fare much better, but sentiment was almost equally split. Fifty-three percent of North Carolinians said they approve of the job Obama is doing; 44 percent disapprove.
Those polled had the greatest level of confidence in the president among their elected representatives. When asked whom they trusted to do the best job, Obama ranked first, with 34.6 percent; Congressional Republicans were named second, with 26 percent. More than 20 percent of those polled volunteered that they did not trust the president or Congress to address the main issues facing the nation.
The poll also tested sentiment about the war in Afghanistan and found North Carolinians very divided on the issue. Forty-seven percent said the war is worth fighting; 43 percent said it is not worth it. Forty-seven percent oppose sending more troops; 42 percent support it.

They approve that he's black and that he dances well, and the liberal media LOVES the guy so they love him too. The idiots that voted for this clown haven't figured out that Obama really is trying to destroy our country.
AAaAAAhhhh!!! It’s Perdue.
As a Purdue grad, though granting their football has been as ugly as her highness, I can’t let it pass!
Has anyone noticed that Kay Hagan is STILL running campaign ads?
