Hi ohioWfan,

I'll never forget how Newt., back in '95 was abused by the left for simply wanting smaller government. There was no internet back then to support him.

So it got to him, he became damaged goods and he became an early casualty.

I for one, am THRILLED to see him go.

Cheers all around!

Howdy, FreeReign! :)

Newt was villified by the left in the '90's and it was horrifying.

But somehow, he started to believe that he had to deny his own principles to rehabilitate his reputation, and the reality is, that if he had held to those principles instead of sleeping with the enemy, he could still be a hero.

As it stands, he seems to say whatever he feels like saying to keep his face and name in the news (a similar addiction to McCain's).

A great political mind without principles is worth less than nothing, and I think that's what we have in Newt. I'm sure he won't be silent, but his credibility, which has been going for a long time, is now completely destroyed.
