Spokane Homicide Examiner
Doyle Wheeler

“New clues in the search for officer’s killer”

SNIPPET: “The vehicle in the video matches the vehicle described by surviving Student Officer Brett Sweeney.

The vehicle is described as acting strangely on the video. Police are keeping the exact description close the vest at this time. Previously they had said they believed the car was a light colored small import like a Toyota.
In addition they do believe the vehicle was struck by at least one of Officer Sweeney’s rounds and should have some damage.

Additionally they have stated that they found a backpack in downtown Seattle that had officer’s names and when they went and on and off shift. This could be a big break as it may yield DNA of a potential suspect(s).”

SEATTLE -

SNIPPET: “Wednesday night, a man was arrested in a Ballard bar. It was not immediately known if the case was connected to the shooting.”

SNIPPET: “At least one violent street gang is now hinting at more violence and the target: Seattle Police.

Just blocks from the shooting scene they found gang graffiti – a violent threat against a specific Seattle Police detective.

The gang squad is chasing down those responsible and trying to stop any group from capitalizing on the shooting.”

SNIPPET: “The reward is now $105,000 for information that leads to the arrest for the murder of Officer Brenton. You can call in tips to 206-233-5000 or Crimestoppers at 800-222-TIPS.”
