ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton said on Monday he would have preferred to leave the White House in a coffin because he loved being commander in chief, but signaled his political life is over.
"It's good that we have a (term) limit. Otherwise I would have stayed until I was carried away in a coffin. Or defeated in an election," Clinton said at a conference in Istanbul. "I loved doing the job."

Hmmmm......
> Otherwise I would have stayed until I was carried away in a coffin. Or defeated in an election,”
Was Bubba looking at Hillary when he said this?
This is horrible. You still have life to live and politics is just part of it. You still have a family that needs you especially Chelsea. That is pretty selfish thing to say.
As always, it is all about him.
Methinks beezlebubba made a Freudian slip there.
Not that it surprises me in the slightest.
Poor choice of words. Reference to Obies intentions???
He just misses the parties. Typical hedonist baby-boomer.

The feeling wasn't mutual, bubba.
You summed it up in 7 words.
Now, if I were snarky, I would say that I had the same wish as well.
Remember when everyone was abuzz with the rumor that buba was going get into radio with a talk show that would take on Limbaugh? Look it up, it's here on FR.
My response was he'll never do it because he would have to do some preparatory work and be at the studio on time.
As the President, buba could be late, inept, inefficient, etc and still have the fawning sycophants kissing his a$$ as if he were Barrack Obama.
So, being President was his favorite job. He really didn't have to do anything; he could be inefficient as hell and still have the press portray him as something special.
He's telling the truth when he says that he like being President.
If hill had been a little more accurate with that lamp, he might have gotten his wish.
there are many comments one could make in reference to this article — but instead I would like to know what he thinks his greatest contributions or accomplishments .....oh, never mind - he is just a big, ugly, old failure ... not worth thinking about.
Clinton was defeated in an election. Gore’s name may have been on the ballot but there was no question to me that America was dumping the Clinton sleaze and corruption, the one that insists to this day that the 2000 election was stolen when it was equally clear that they were the ones trying to do the stealing.
