makes sense. i do think the sense that this was being orchestrated from outside played a big role in a local race.

it’d be interesting to see exit polls and the breakdown by pary and what the vote was today as opposed to those who voted early and absentee. The early votes for Scozzofava may have played a role.

you have to wonder how accurate some of these polls were. In a district like that with 3 candidates and the turns the race took last weekend, the polling was probably useless.

still 45/46 for Hoffman is pretty good, all things considered.

besides, the two wins in NJ and VA are a much bigger deal. this was more about making a statement about the direction of the party and establishing principles and setting the stage going forward.

Considering Hoffman only entered the race a month ago, that he is a political novice and that he was representing a party with little or no infrastructure, he did damn well.

I hope those idiotic pubs who chose scuzzy over Hoffman or one of the other potential candidates learned their lesson and that others with the same penchant took notice.

I figure the pub party has next year as their last chance to hang onto the base. If they don’t get the message, they will know nothing but darkness for the rest of their political days, which will definitely be numbered. I think most are willing to work with them, but we’ve supported them long enough. They need to make a major move in our direction or prepare themselves for oblivion.
