They guy shot until he ran out of ammo. The other ones with drawn weapons were civilian security employed by Ft. Hood. It ain’t easy gettin’a weapon on that post. Which makes me wonder how he got them one. Could one of his “paitents” worked in a weapons area?
I missed your sarcasm tag.
“It aint easy gettina weapon on that post.”
Unless everyone is strip-searched and all vehicles are disassembled each time they enter the base, it’s fairly easy.
Most security is meant to intimidate the easily intimidated. Someone who is planning to die in the course of his actions is probably a lot braver than normal.
All GIs who have to live in the proximity with Muslims should be allowed to be armed at all times.
No he didn't, the medics found several more loaded maganzines.
The other ones with drawn weapons were civilian security employed by Ft. Hood.
Possibly, even probably.
It aint easy gettina weapon on that post. Which makes me wonder how he got them one. As a US Citizen, with no criminal record, he bought them. They have confirmed that the FN 5.7 was bought at "Guns Galore" (Love the name, but I've heard they aren't very customer friendly) It's not a US miltary weapon, we don't even use the caliber. (Save perhaps a few "special" units.) The maganzines and ammunition are redily available on line.
As to getting them on post, he probably just threw them in the trunk of his car, or under a blanket in the back seat footwells, and gambled that his would not be one of the cars stopped for inception that day. (It's been months since I was inspected). There are other possibilities, which I'll not speculate on.
