allahu akbar: Commonly MIS-translated as ‘god is great’ it means the muslim ‘god,’ allah, is grestEST. The distinction is critical.
When you hear that shouted, what they’re REALLY saying is THEIR ‘god’ is greatEST, that is, GREATER than all other Gods, Christian, Jewish, etc.
Isn’t that kind-of stupid, in that they supposedly believe in the same G_d...?
