Debtors’ prison is illegal and unconstitutional - and going because you can’t pay an unconstitutional “public option (socialized medicine) insurance premium”.

You have no idea how aggravating this healthcare scam is to me. You have no idea how much fear this strikes into my heart for myself and my country.

I have worked hard...all my life. I was never smart, nor clever enough to make millions or even hundreds of thousands. And like most people I've had my share of mistakes along the way too.

But in all my circumstances I've not taken a dime from the public dole. I've paid ALL my debts, even my own way through college. Oh...to say I didn't apply for financial aid would be a lie, but in order to apply for many of the scholarships...you had to apply for aid. I never qualified because I worked and any “aid” I received was at the end of each quarter the left over unclaimed scholarships awarded based on merit.

I have always been proud of taking care of myself. Under this plan the government is basically telling me, I can't take care of myself and no, we won't take care of you either. Instead I'll be fined or worse some bureaucrat decides I am being ‘willfully negligent’ and brings me up on charges.

I will be punished for being frugal with my few dollars. The most financially efficient way to deal with my medical issues becomes illegal. My obtaining basic medical services becomes no longer my private business.

Are there things wrong with the current health insurance system? They are a business that provides contractual services. For me it is like asking why I can't go to a five star restaurant for dinner? Simply because I can't afford their dinner doesn't mean they have broken the law, nor does it mean that because they serve food that they are responsible for providing welfare handouts.

Right now I can negotiate with my doctor and even the hospital if need be on the pricing for services. Five years ago when I need hospital grade medical services, I discovered that one could call the hospital billing departments and negotiate anywhere from a 10% to 75% discount on services(even if you were as much as 130+% over poverty level). No government involvement.

All of that disappears under Pelosicare. For many here on FR, who have the talents to succeed where I quite frankly don't, you worry about other things that will affect you from this horrible bill. I guess the reason for my posting is to let you know there are some of us...way down here...that need to not have our options taken away too.

We see it, we know it and we're fighting against it too. If this monstrous thing passes, I don't know what I will do. The government is essentially going to close the healthcare market and turn people like me into criminals.
