Yes! This story has taken on a life of its own and is meaningless. Through the wonders of the internet, it has become a story of Hasan being on Obama’s transition team.
It was nothing more than a task force under a program at GWU, bipartisan, begun in April 2008 (when Obama and Clinton were still duking it out for the nomination).
It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Obama transition. It’s a think tank type program under the university’s auspices. Anyone who had an interest could be a ‘participant’ and, as a psychologist assigned to Walter Reed, no one would have questioned Capt Hasan’s registration.
The massacre was horrendous in and of itself; but putting out false/misleading stories like this that prey on public ignorance of what an independent task force is, serves no good purpose.,
