Somebody should check the WH visitor logs. This guy had to have been chosen specifically for all the preferment he got. It would also explain why he was obviously untouchable, even though normally somebody with his track record and “problems” would have been gone yesterday.
If Hasan had protection and preference, they wouldn’t have been shipping his butt to the ME. Remember, he hired a lawyer and tried to get discharged, even offering to pay back for his education, to get out of the deployment, and still couldn’t pull it off. If he’d had preference and protection from high-ups, he wouldn’t have been on his way to the ME.
I think it’s a case of a raghead loyalist (because of his parents being Palestinian) being willingly sucked into the jihad through his mosque and associations centered around the mosque and his family background as a Palestinian. He was actively pushing for converts into hatred of America and he threw a tantrum because he would rather kill some American soldiers and be killed himself rather than go to the ME on the side of America.
I don’t think he had any direct connection with zero or any special “pull” within the administration. I think he supported zero because he thought zero would be drawing down both wars and would like to have had a role in that or else he wouldn’t have joined the transition task force at GWU. The GWU task force sounds like it initiated this organization on its own volition as a volunteer group, not on the request of the zero transition team, even though the zero transition team was probably receptive of it or at least figured the managers and members would be worth tapping for campaign contributions in another of their myriad “pay to play” scams.
Let’s not start a wild-eyed, half-cocked conspiracy featuring zero as a knowing instrument in this bloodbath. I hate the bastard as much as anybody here, but let’s not let him drive us over the edge of reason.
