Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt. His mother's funeral was held there in May that year.
The preacher at the time was Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Yemeni scholar who was banned from addressing a meeting in London by video link in August because he is accused of supporting attacks on British troops and backing terrorist organisations.
Hasan's eyes "lit up" when he mentioned his deep respect for al-Awlaki's teachings, according to a fellow Muslim officer at the Fort Hood base in Texas, the scene of Thursday's horrific shooting spree.
As investigators look at Hasan's motives and mindset, his attendance at the mosque could be an important piece of the jigsaw. Al-Awlaki moved to Dar al-Hijrah as imam in January, 2001, from the west coast, and three months later the September 11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour began attending his services. A third hijacker attended his services in California.

Figuring this one out didn't even slightly test the deductive reasoning power of Freeperdom. Any moron could have connected the dots on this, from the minute we knew the killer's name.
As a matter of fact, I'm sure that morons all over the world figured it out without stressing their mental machinery.

Although, the article says it’s in Great Falls. Different than Falls Church. There is another huge mosque out by Great Falls, although it may actually be in Vienna or Herndon. Can’t remember where the boundaries are there. I assume the writer meant the one in Falls Church.
Spoke with my nephew who is in the military. He spends his time vetting/reading intel to determine its severity and validity. He said that they have been getting intel/chatter for a year about how the terrorists want to infiltrate the military. This is enough to make one sick. And pissed. And livid. Ok. I’m officially an angry white female.

You and me both! This is outrageous and needs to be investigated. They have infiltrated Congressial staff, too. Where else have they burrowed in and who the heck is responsible for getting them out?
I don't think he meant that at all. I believe that he was saying that the nature of the incident was obvious to all but the most obtuse among us...namely our political class. He might have phrased it differently, but I'm certain that he wasn't insulting the people on Free Republic.
