Fort Hood killer ‘does not represent Muslims’: American security chief (lol)
The National ^ | November 09. 2009 | Daniel Bardsley

Posted on 11/08/2009 1:16:58 PM PST by Baladas

ABU DHABI // The killing of 13 people by a Muslim psychiatrist at an American army base must not lead to the victimisation of Muslim Americans, the US secretary of homeland security has said.

On a visit to the capital, Janet Napolitano said grassroots efforts were vital to preserving relations between Muslim Americans and the wider community after Friday’s shootings at Fort Hood in Texas.

“We object to, and do not believe, that anti-Muslim sentiment should emanate from this,” she said. “This was an individual who does not represent the Muslim faith.”

Describing the killings as “a terrible tragedy”, Ms Napolitano said a civil rights and civil liberties directorate in her department aimed to “prevent everybody being painted with a broad brush”.

“That work is ongoing and is part and parcel of how we view security,” she said. “One of the things we’ll do is make sure that we’re reaching out to the state and local authorities within the US, because they often have better outreach to members of the Muslim community than we do.” Ms Napolitano was speaking to female students at Zayed University, and took part in a private question-and-answer session with them.

She said her visit to the UAE was part of the “outreach” programme to the Muslim community by the US administration, one that included the June speech in Cairo by the US president, Barack Obama.

Talks with officials during her visit centred on “general co-operation” between the UAE and the US on issues such as “training and sharing best practices”, she added.

A more detailed article of one here that showed Janet doing the CAIR dance. Of course, the killer doesn't represent Muslims, that's her boss' job.

So let me understand this Janet..Hasan does not represent Muslims, but the killer of Dr. Tiller represented right wing extremists. Remember that oh so interesting list that she gave out many months ago calling right wingers terrorists like Tim McVeigh, but this Hasan guy, who screams Allah Akbar before opening fire, goes on islamic extremist web sites and praises suicide bombers, and gives away all of his belongings and hands out the quran to people in his neighborhood, he doesn’t represent the muslim community. Perhaps Janet needs to talk with that muslim guy in Queens, ya know, the supposed peaceful, loving muslim who created a web site yesterday offering his prayers to Hasan and saying that the victims of the Ft. Hood massacre will “Burn in eternal hell” yeah that peaceful religion

Sure he doesn’t.

All sarcasm aside, the events of this past week have proven that the US government no longer represents us so I guess we’re on our own.

We need a new Thesaurus:

i.e. Suicide bombers. Honor killings. Religion of Peace.

Orwell was a prophet.
http://www.george-orwell.org/l_biography.html
Orwell’s concern over the power of language to shape reality is also reflected in his invention of Newspeak, the official language of the imaginary country of Oceania in his novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. Newspeak is a variant of English in which vocabulary is strictly limited by government fiat. The goal is to make it increasingly difficult to express ideas that contradict the official line - with the final aim of making it impossible even to conceive such ideas.

He stumbled and was taken in by an Amish family and was frustrated because of it.

Who ever thought that the Muslim faith ever was part of any action against our freedom anyway?

“This was an individual who does not represent the Muslim faith.”

I think the murderer would dispute that, Janet.

the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!

A recent classmate said Hasan once gave a jarring presentation to students in which he argued the war on terrorism was a war against Islam, and "made himself a lightning rod for things" when he felt his religious beliefs were challenged.

Hasan appeared less forgiving to Dr. Val Finnell when they were classmates in a 2007-08 master's public health program at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md.

He said that at a class presentation by public health students, at which topics like dry cleaning chemicals and house mold were discussed, Hasan talked about U.S. military actions as a war on Islam. Hasan made clear he was a "vociferous opponent" of U.S. wars in Muslim countries, Finnell said.

"He made himself a lightning rod for things," Finnell said. "No one picked on him because he was a Muslim."

"He told (them - his West Bank family members) that as a Muslim committed to his prayers he was discriminated against and not treated as is fitting for an officer and American," said Mohammed Malik Hasan, 24, a cousin. "He hired a lawyer to get him a discharge."

This woman is delusional. She would have it that folks shouldn’t be ‘painted with a broad brush’, yet we can remember not so long ago her description of the right wing element in tea parties and warriors returning home. Perhaps she should read a little history of the USA, which had to contend with jihadist piracy in the Mediterranean as soon as the British tribute no longer covered the shipping of its former colony.

Actually, it goes deeper than defying common sense.

It goes right to doing the Enemy’s bidding, and I don’t mean “Islam”.

When you WILLINGLY CAPITULATE to untruth, and punish the telling of the truth, you are working the will of the father of lies.

That’s all “PC” is - capitulation to lies.

He doesn’t represent all Muslims, but he’s representative of some Muslims. Anyway, the issue here isn’t what we’re doing to Muslims. It’s how this guy managed to stay in the Army, and why someone didn’t blow the whistle on him sooner. To think otherwise is a disservice to those innocents who died.

Describing the killings as “a terrible tragedy”, Ms Napolitano said a civil rights and civil liberties directorate in her department aimed to “prevent everybody being painted with a broad brush”.

No, this was not a tragedy. It was an atrocity.

And, Janet, you're painting with a broad brush when you say this act does not represent Muslims. This sort of thing has to be evaluated one individual at a time, and I know neither you nor anyone else has done that. (But you can sure find a lot of support for this sort of thing in the Koran and in Islamic history.)

A Muslim takes every word of the Koran as gospel:

Quoting the Koran manual of murder and mayhem:

Sura (2:191-193) - "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution of Muslims is worse than slaughter of non-believers...and fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah."

Sura (5:33) - "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement"

Sura (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"

Bukhari (52:177) - Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him."

Tabari 7:97 The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet declared,"Kill any Jew who falls under your power."

Ibn Ishaq: 327 - “Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.’”

It seems to me that if these so called "muslim groups" would spend a fraction of the time actually trying to counter these nuts that go on the murder sprees, as opposed to painting themselves as the victims of "islamaphobia," when nobody's actually lifted a finger against them, then people might be more sympathetic. It also doesn't help when they paint the murderers themselves as victims. I especially love the so called pre-post traumatic stress syndrome that the murderer was suffering under, as well as the difficulty of being a field grade officer and a mulsim... I wonder just who it was making fun of and insulting him? Enlisted, NCOs and lower ranking officers certainly weren't doing it to his face... Otherwise they'd be in a world of hurt. And superior officers? Their careers would be in jeopardy. Does anybody really believe that this guy was anything but a sleeper?
