Used to joke with friends about how they swab injection sites with disinfectant alcohol prior to sticking the needle in. I mean, afterall, why are they trying to prevent infection in someone who is going to be dead within a 1/2 hour anyways?

Then a friend who's dad was a doc pointed out that the alcohol actually makes the needle sting more when it gets stuck in. A little somethings better than nothing, right?

I also have to wonder if, since ingestion of alcohol is prohibited to Muslims just like pork, they use alcohol-based disinfectant (is there any other kind?), he' gets sent off to Allah in an "unclean" state.

Oh, and I have a personal interest in seeing this guy get the needle. If I hadn't been delayed with another errand and decided to go home instead, I would have been pulling into the parking lot at the Falls Church Home Depot center right about the time the guy pulled the trigger.
