The more “child porn” is found on “suspects” computers the more I am beginning to wonder one of two possibilities.

First “child porn” has become the new “throw down gun” of the cyber age or next police have a very liberal definition of “child porn”, that includes any image of a female who “looks young” based upon physical characteristics, maybe a “flat chest” or a shaved pubic area?

You never hear of the follow up conviction in these cases nor do you hear of the circumstances in which the charges are dismissed.

It just makes one wonder int he day of unnecessarily aggressive police tactics and out of control prosecutors who go out of their way to suppress any evidence that could question the veracity of claims of innocence. But those same prosecutors never miss a chance to jump to an open media microphone and declare their case air tight and the suspect guilty as homemade sin.

I think both of you are right. That is the one crime so disgusting that once accused, there can be no defense. Thus, no proof is ever needed!

Or exoneration.
Food for thought.

The only loose end (in the logic) is, if this technique is so lethal, why isn't it ever used against the current perpetrators?

At least the “throw down” gun was something done after a confrontation with police, one where you (as the dead person) may have brought it on yourself (MAY have, not necessarily, of course.)

But with computer viruses and remote control of computers now, it’d be easy to frame someone. ANd what is the defense? “Come on, no one would ever think I’d be guilty of such a thing. This is absurd!” That won’t go far in court. I don’t like laws regarding simple possession (be it drugs, porn, etc) because it’s too easy to plant and frame someone and you don’t have to prove the other things (motive, history, victim) that you do with other crimes.

For a split second, I read the name as "Morford".

"Monfort", or sometimes "Montfort", is actually a pretty illustrious name. The House of Monfort played an important role in England and France during the Middle Ages. Simon de Monfort, 6th Earl of Leicester, rebelled against King Henry III and called the first elected Parliament in 1265. This pervert disgracing the famous name is probably a remote descendant.

That’s disgusting and to post such a thing disgusts me more.

Of course, we have free speech, so continuing one.

If you want to read convictions on child porn go to .gov legal-related sites or just use Google.

Here’s just 1 example of a radio personality who was caught with child porn and was convicted:

I think people are missing the story here....its merely a story about a creep who probably planted bombs and shot a police officier for no reason and who happens to also have child porn on his computer....

probably didn't know he was black either.....

gee if this guy were a white Christian with child porn, his face would be all over the boob tube...white cracker...

I would say it is because either A) law enforcement cannot LOCATE them successfully, or b) because they are they only ones not SHAMED by such an allegation, and thus they never plea bargain with prosecutors!

I couldn’t agree with you more. I suspect most who want to defend a perp on this basis are themselves dealing with character/integrity issues.

I had the same thoughts when I read this post.

I want to see this guy swiftly executed Saudi style for the cold blooded murder of a policeman.

I mentioned years ago on FR about what an odd coincidence it is that kiddie porn is always found on suspects' computers, when they're suspected of a federal offense. Tax evasion...something related to firearms...drug related...Didn't matter what, but whenever a federal suspect was arrested, the news article on the arrest ALWAYS included a line that read, "Child pornography was found on the suspect's computer." I started going out of my way to read about people arrested for federal offense, even in other states, even minor cases, just looking for that line, and I was rarely disappointed.

So I pointed this out on a FR thread, back in 2000-2002 (somewhere in there), and I said that this proved one of two things: Either all men wanted on federal charges are such utter scumbags that of course they were also into kiddie porn, OR

Some federal agent is sending porn to the home computers prior to making an arrest.

After making this remark, a poster responded with an account of what s/he saw as an officer of the court( s/he did not give a state or a specific job title, I'm guessing probably a bailiff). S/he stated that when "kiddie porn" is found, but it's not the main charge at all, and the porn was just located as part of a sweep looking for evidence for totally unrelated offenses

That the images found on the accused computers were always the same.

Always the EXACT SAME images. Over and over again. In case after case.

Of course, the juries wouldn't realize this and draw the obvious conclusions. So yeah...That freeper, based on what s/he saw in the courtroom at which s/he worked, thought that federal agents with computer know-how were copying porn images to suspect's hard drives, to help guarantee a conviction on the other charges.

See my comment 18. Yeah, I know...the plural of anecdote isn’t data...but that freeper’s post to me has stuck in my memory for some years now.

well isn’t that interesting?

And yesterday I was reading about new viruses where pedophiles can remotely store images on other people’s computers without them knowing it (until the police knock on their door of course)

It might get to the point where the safest thing to is just ditch the computers.
