Visits by two men, claiming to be Homeland Security employees, have Middletown officials raising a lot of questions.

Police say one man, who was armed and wearing a Homeland Security badge, entered Mayfield Elementary School yesterday morning, before the start of class.

Officials say he and another man, also wearing a similar badge, had been to an apartment complex earlier looking for a suspect.

At the school, the man claiming to be an agent, asked the principal whether a particular street was within the school's attendance area.

Strange. They really didn’t give a description. Took me a minute to find out this was in Cincinnati.

Hmmmm Maybe a dry run?....let’s see if we can get cooperation by posing as Homeland security. I’m glad my children go to a private school with a locked down system.

I counted four, maybe six Federal Felonies if they aren’t really Homeland Security. My guess is they are the real deal, or exceptionally stupid.

Osama Bin Laden said 1 Million American children must die.
The plans have been laid out. Take control or create diversions or outright takeover of police and first responders, while actually attacking at schools. Repeat that scene at several locations at once. Complete chaos.

Could be those Winchester brothers, Sam and Dean. They are always impersonating government officials and investigating Supernatural happenings.

They may not have been Homeland Security. Badges aren’t that difficult to get. I notice that no one mentioned asking for an ID. I’ve had LEOs drop by a couple times to talk, thinking I might have knowledge that would help their investigation. In both cases they initially showed only a badge. When I asked for ID I was shown a business card! I insisted and they finally reluctantly produced ID.
The ID could have been phony, but it would be extremely rare for an imposter to have all three.

While police believe the men are federal employees

Really? Why? The police haven't a clue who these guys were. If anyone walked into 99% of the nation's police stations with a badge claiming they were from Homeland Security or XYZ, police wouldn't know the difference. Who knows what a real badge or ID looks like? Hardly anyone. Flash a badge and bad guys are allowed into anywhere at any time.

I seem to recall some kind of situation a couple of years ago where some visitors (I do not recall if they were muslims) in their 20s got on a school bus “just to observe”.

“At the school, the man claiming to be an agent, asked the principal whether a particular street was within the school’s attendance area.”

Is it just me, probably...

But is this not the most assinine comment or question to ask...

What the heck is a “school attendance area”???

Why not ask a decently stupid question like “Does that street over there, is it adjacent to the school property line?”

What would “school attendance” have to do with a specific “area” or premisis of a school facility???

As far as I know, there are no Homeland Security “Agents”. All the federal investigators or agents in Homeland Security are part of a subset of agencies with make up the department.

ICE, the Border Patrol, Customs and Border Protection, FEMA etc are part of DHS and they have creds that indicate which branch they are from. I would be suspicious of anyone just claiming to be from DHS. It would be like someone claiming to be from DOJ, my first question would be what part?

“Police say armed man likey was Homeland Security agent”

By Lauren Pack, Staff Writer
10:47 PM Friday, November 13, 2009

SNIPPET: “MIDDLETOWN — Middletown police still do no know exactly who the armed man was who visited Mayfield Elementary School Tuesday showing a Homeland Security badge, but they now believe he and another agent did have legitimate business in the city.”

SNIPPET: ““At this point I don’t think anyone is going to ‘fess up’,” Cunningham said.”

SNIPPET: “Marla Marsh, principal at the Burbank Avenue school, contacted police about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday about a suspicious person with a gun at the school, according to the police report.

Marsh said the man told her he was with Homeland Security and showed a photograph identification. The man asked the principal if Euclid Street was part of her attendance area, Marsh answered “no,” and the man left, she said.

Marsh said the man got into a Chevrolet Malibu with tinted windows and headed north. The man, who had a gun holstered on his side, was described as white and wearing a white T-shirt with blue print on it, jeans and a baseball cap.

Prior to the man’s visit at the school, police received a call from Euclid Court resident Christopher Hall, who said a man came to his home and asked if he recognized a photograph of an Hispanic male with the word “wanted” on the photo. Hall told police the man, who he described as Asian, had a Homeland Security badge around his neck.

Middletown police issued a bulletin to area police agencies to be on the lookout for the individual who visited the area to determine if his business and intent were legitimate.”
