Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani has decided not to run for governor next year - but will run for U.S. Senate instead, sources told the Daily News.
A source familiar with Giuliani's thinking said the failed presidential candidate has been telling people he plans to run against Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in 2010 to fill out the remaining two years of Hillary Clinton's term.

Wow, you are new.
Deroy Murdoch has also been debunked on this site 1,000,000,000 times.
He is a big-time Rudophile.
He's also the guy who was reading us the Bill Clinton talking points on Abortion to defend Rudy (”No matter what his stance and policies were, Abortions went down under Clinton/Rudy so Pro-lifers should support them!”).
Deroy read us more than a few recycled Clinton talking points for that matter, talking points that everyone on the right correctly debunked when Clinton was using them.
Rudy STOPPED School Choice dead in its tracks in New York city before it could get started, opposed Welfare Reform to the point of multiple lawsuits, was an AVOWED enemy of Second Amendment rights and the Pro-Life movement, SUPPORTED Hate Crimes legislation and CALLED FOR MORE OF IT, SUPPORTS the homosexual rights movement, was almost ALWAYS on the side of unions, whether it be the teachers’ unions or otherwise, and abused his authority to impound private property (See: cars) IMPROPERLY.
HE IS AN ENEMY of much of the Conservative movement, not a hero. I don't give a DAMN what the New York Times has to say.

Good move by Rudy. He can pund Obama and Gillibrand on security issues leading into the 2010 elections and maybe bring some rural and suburban congressional seats back to our side of the aisle.
I think Giuliani is being a fine trooper and a good American here. Obama and his crew have scared Rudy sensible.

You put forth a truckload of bluster seeking a ‘war’ on liberalism...
...and then advocate for as liberal to be the next Republican nominee for President.
That’s just plain crazy.

And I am all those things but I'll support Rudy in his run for the senate in New York. He will pound the dems on security and will get conservatives elected down ticket in rural and suburban New York.

So if Hillary Clinton registered as a Republican was embraced by enough idiots to get the 2012 Republican nomination for President, would you vote for her against Obama?
She would meet your standard of ‘any Republican’.

Any politico who can't bring themselves to defend the most vulnerable and innocent in our society - the unborn - doesn't deserve to be elected to any position of public trust.Nicely said. I have something like that on my Free Republic profile page.

It is unacceptable to support any "pro-choice" politician for the United States Senate.

What issues define “we” and include Giuliani?

We'll need a reason for the Moderates to stay on boardA)Why?
B) Define 'moderate' in terms of positions on specific issues.

...but even liberals will eventually become conservative if faced with malaise and decline.
Where do you dredge this bullshit up from? The only liberals I've ever seen truly convert to conservatism were those who survived a violent crime in a gun free zone.
But according to you, eventually, if they become miserable enough, they simply see the light and change their ways eh?
I get it. :-) You're 10 years old and are sneaking onto your Mom's computer when she's not there... right? :-)
Seriously though! I MUST hear more about this magical transformation of liberals to conservatives! That's a new one!

Giuliani would have been a better GOP candidate than McCainYeah. Right.
Right until flyover country got an eyeball full of those gams with the Rockettes.
That would have ended it.

He would certainly have made a better POTUS than Obama has.My cat would make a better POTUS than Obama.
To: trumandogz
I don’t see it as a good idea to run for a certain political office in order to use it solely as a stepping stone for any future run for POTUS. Mitt Romney did just that before his run for ‘08 POTUS. How about running for certain political offices because you really want those jobs in the first place? I know, silly me to even bring that up.
