No, he will need 60 again for a motion to end debate and take an actual vote on the bill. That's when Lincoln, Nelson, Landrieu and Lieberman (among others) are threatening to jump ship over the public option and/or abortion.

I think the most likely outcome is for the public option to be removed entirely so they can pass something in the Senate. The House would then have to decide whether it will go along. If not, no law.

Bottom line, this travesty has a long way to go.

Thanks for the reply. I am SO glad to hear that Reid doesn’t need just 50 votes to go forward from here, but the actual 60.
