I would have thought the same, but you can see the model lines in the hacked file just like you can in the one posted on realclimate.
If you look at the key on real climate, these other lines are model lines.
Makes me wonder if their models are beginning to report non-human induced global warming and they aren’t telling anyone.
Yes, I agree, but they are referring to height on the y-axis by way of pressure. As you go higher in the atmosphere the pressure decreases, so they are plotting pressure against decade trends in temperature on the x-axis.
If the models were any good, those box and whisker boxed would be right centered in the middle of the models.

This is standard statistics, if the models were any good the models would be all around the box and whiskers, but it isn’t.

Someone NEEDS to be prosecuted for this collosal fraud against the world! As well, the obama administration should be immediately investigated to find out who knew what, when they knew it, and WHY they allowed this bogus informaiton in the IPCC report to go forward resulting in the world’s largest scam ever- OUR government has scammed us!!! OUR government has cammed businesses!!! Billions have been payed to ‘fix’ somethign that can NEVER be fixed, and which, quite frankly does NOT need to be fixed!!! Nature works fine all by itself!
You can bert your bottom dollar that this administration knew all about hte cover-upd, but decided to push through this assinine global warmign mandate irregardless of whether it was goign to ruin us or not- Where are the GOP DEMANDING a thorough investigation into this? He shoudl be DEMANDING a complete investigation into this collosal fraud against the public!!!
I also note that fox news isn’t headlining the story, and has written an article that is almost excusatory toward the CRIMINALS who scammed us at hte CUI and IPCC

Perhaps two authors with different ways of interpreting the data (all “scientific” of course). The timing of the end point matters as well since there has been a bunch of UT cooling lately in temperate zones (can’t find a link right now). Looks like the published curve is shifted to the right 0.2-0.3 degrees to make it show warmer temperatures. They probably persuaded themselves that all of the data needed a “correction”. I’m sure they had a technical justification for it.
Figures don’t lie, but liars can figure. When science merges with politics, politics usually wins.
I should add that the two charts in this thread are both for tropical troposphere where the models show warming. The UT cooling I mentioned in my previous post is temperate, not tropical.
This is a trend chart, so both of these charts would have to contain at least 40 years of data.
You can’t get a trend without at least 4 years but since the chart decade, this translates to 40 years. see....make sense?

Quite frankly, neither one of them are ‘true’ as the placement of the recording devices was exposed not so long ago to reveal that they wewre placed in spots that were articially high temps- you can’t trust ANYTHING the CRU or the IPCC or ANY ‘man-caused’ global warmign advocate tells you or shopws you- the WHOLE thing is a massive fraud meant to rip off the wealthy and hte poor alike

It seems like the whole load of e-mails is a treasure trove. Each day, the revelations get better. I don’t know if there was one particular thing the revealer wanted us to see. (I am inclined to believe this was an inside job rather than a hacker.) It may just be the whole tone of the conversation that is ultimately most damning.
I think it’s just great, for example, that we read an e-mail where they’re talking about how to get a publication to stop accepting articles from AGW skeptics. And then there’s another e-mail criticizing the skeptics because they are not publishing in peer-reviewed journals. Machiavellian, to be sure.
