WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama said on Monday his top priority was to tackle high U.S. unemployment, and stressed that although the economy was growing again, many Americans were still suffering.

"Our economy is growing again for the first time in more than a year," Obama told reporters after a meeting with his cabinet. "We cannot be sit back and be satisfied given the extraordinarily high unemployment levels that we have seen."

U.S. unemployment is at a 26-year high of 10.2 percent and may get worse before it improves, despite the economy's swing into positive growth in the third quarter of this year.

Obama, whose once-lofty public approval ratings have been hurt by the economy and high jobless numbers since he took office in January, has convened a jobs forum on December 3 to review what other measures can be taken to boost employment creation.

However, he has also said that he is interested in solutions that would not cost much, acknowledging a record U.S. deficit after government tax revenue was hit by the country's steep recession.

Komrade Obamaski is too modest about his efforts to date.

The Japanese and Koreans are quite satisfied with the jobs he created in their countries with his Kash for Klunkers program.

Maybe he can boost employment in a few other countries with a Kash for Klunker TV program. Or a Kash for Klunker Toasters and Small Appliance program.

Let’s see, the economy grew. If you take in account growth attributed to the declining value of the dollar, good for US firms doing overseas business and subtract that from the total, and jobs”saved” in the public financed sector, which has no ay with falling revenues to “save” them next year without more “stimulus”, what is the economic growth, really? Also, as the Bush tax cuts expire and the costs to businesses from cap andtax and Obamacare get implemented, what will be the impact on job growth? (I think it will be a killer). This will result in a continued level but no growth in the main street economy hence employment and increasing deficits, due to lower tax revenues will be the likely result until we shed ourselves of our marxist POTUS.

Don’t know: buy more ammo as you’re likely to need it.

For practice only and initial shots, of course. You too can harvest the gains from our “growing” economy.

I think that it’s really getting to be about that time...

Hasn’t he done enough to ease unemployment already? I think we are better off if he does nothing than if he does something.
