Darwin did no such thing.
1. He was a naturalist aboard the ship. Nothing more.
2. Captain Robert Fitzroy was responsible for any slaves brought on board during the ship’s “second voyage”.
3. Darwin objected to slavery and was rebuked by Fitzroy and the rest of the ship’s compliment.
But, hey, it makes a good story, so go with it.
