Jim,

I couldn’t agree with you more. I had issues when I first joined freerepublic with moderators threatening to zot me for speaking against our then-favorite RINO. I eventually came out and supported him against my better wishes... next time this comes up as I’m sure it will, I’ll seek your advice.

I apologize for not coming to you then.

Thank you.

Gordon Greene

Tell me, which rights are you willing to give up to secure what you call victory?

Which of these are you willing to sellout on to secure 'victory'?

I think the bottom line here is we should not allow "RINO" politicians to tiller or paddle the conservative row boat leftward as the current is already taking us. They are already in the boat, but should we allow them to determine the course? Furthermore, if they won't help row the boat against the leftward current, then perhaps we should get rowers who will.

Okay, the analogy kind of sucks, but I tried.

Last Sat. night, I was glad for a few RINOs.

Yes. But they can and have hurt us the same way too. It is the nature of the "RINO" beast.

And a fearsome pack of hunters you are.

You know you're over the target when you're taking flack.

Rino, near sighted, short sighted, not too bright, easily confused, and easily led astray.
Deadly in large numbers, dangerous even singly.
No known practical value or use.

I live in NY state, home of the Rino motherfleet.
So I’m sick of Rinos.

Some are well meaning, but “strategically” challenged.

Some lack the courage to attack the real enemy.

But, make no mistake, there are Soros subversives posing as “stalwart anti-RINOs”, fomenting frustration and disillusionment, to abet Obama’s reelection.

JVeritas, I know you see California as a lost cause, so let’s use it as an example. Didn’t a recent initiative to grant equal status to homosexuals as heterosexuals in marriage go down in defeat?

Didn’t Simon almost defeat an incumbent Democrat in 1992 without financial backing from the GOP?

In that election the Democrats pulled out all the stops, every big name they could think of came out to California to help Davis.

Simon got didly squat support from the GOP. I think Bush popped into the state once for a few hours. Davis got days and days of national support.

I know my state has been surrenderd. The GOP hasn’t done anything of note here in twenty years. The leadership is non-existant.

People still have core values and concerns. They can still understand the premise of thier money being stolen from them via their paycheck. They can still understand the subject of sound education for their children. They can still understand property rights, jobs, and other issues. Our side doesn’t represent sound values in the state. We don’t win converts.

We surrender too much, when we consider states to be lost in perpetuity. You sure don’t see the Democrats giving up on sound states do you. That’s why they win and we lose.

They’re not bashful about going for the whole pie. We are.

FWIW:
Origin
Celeste Greig, a long-time Los Angeles conservative Republican and leader of the California Republican Assembly, created the acronym RINO and designed buttons that bear the epithet. In 1994, she named former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan the “chairman” of the RINOs and former Congressman Michael Huffington the “vice chairman” of the RINOs. At this time, she bestowed each of them with the RINO button helping the term to become widely popular.

Although Celeste Greig popularized and promoted the term RINO, it originated on the Free Republic Internet site and was created by Regina Rabin, a researcher and political independent. Ms. Rabin was a “lurker” but not a member of that conservative site during the Clinton years. The Free Republic site topic at the time asked for a term to describe a Republican who did not think or vote like a Republican. Since Ms. Rabin was not registered to the site, she submitted the term “RINO”[Republican In Name Only] neither donkey nor elephant, to the first registered member and poster who had an e-mail address available. Within a day of submission, the term was in use and has been widely used since. For verification:Jim Robinson, the founder of Free Republic site. [Fact-November 22,2009]

Michael Huffington, you know, huffpo ho’s hubby?
So I’m thinking maybe Jim made it pretty clear back when what this place is about. He was right then, and he’s right now.

So, you think that if Scozzafava were President (God forbid) that she'd be traveling the world apologizing for the United States, bowing to foreign leaders, hanging or troops out to dry in Afghanistan, nationalizing car companies and banks, installing 39 unaccountable czars (some of whom are avowed Communists) and she'd betray our eastern European allies and accord Constitutional rights to terrorist, just the same as Obama?

Don't know about Scozzabama, but this picture of McCain is damning enough, unless, of course, you are a fan of La Raza.

(There's also a picture of McCain at a south Florida ACORN/SEIU rally, if that makes a difference.)

"I have to tell you, [Obama] is a decent person, a person that you
do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States."

U.S. SEN. JOHN MCCAIN, 10 OCT. 2008

"I think the Democratic Party is a fine party, and I have
no problems with it, in their views and their philosophy."

Read my post just above. It expresses my thoughts on it.

If you can link me to Jim’s statement in context, I would like to read what was going on that led to that statement.

That was an incredibly prosaic statement of what we must do to save our republic. Great words. Keep them, and post them often.
