Who started the Tea Party movement? On Glenn Beck (on right now - rerun I’m sure), Ron Paul was credited for the beginning of the movement. Any other information out there?
It was the first time I’d heard any connection to Ron Paul.
There's no doubt that it was Rick Santelli's rant on CNBC that sparked the movement. He challenged Americans across the country to meet him for a new American Tea Party in response to the damage that Obie Won Husseini is causing to the nation.
Go to YouTube and do a search on "Rick Santelli Tea Party", and you'll find the video of the rant that started it all.
I heard that too - I think not! I’ve no idea where she got that notion, but I don’t recall Paul having diddly squat to do with staring the Tea Parties!
Rick Santelli deserves the most credit.

I hope with all my heart that Glenn Beck will not waste all the good he’s done by associating himself with that lunatic Ron Paul and his adepts.
The RINOGOP establishment, the lamestream media, and the DNC could not hope for a better Christmas (ops! I meant “Holiday”) present.
Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Hussein Obama.
I heard it, too. It was a rerun and I saw the original program as well. It was disappointing that Beck did not correct, or at least throw out a "I'm not sure about that" to expose that fraudulent idea.
As others have said -- Rick Santelli's comments are what started it as far as I know -- and I attended the first tea party scheduled after his rant on February 27th.
The White House and Congress show about as much interest in the Tea Parties as a bunch of alcoholics would.
