“I find nothing in the Bible which states directly or indirectly anything along the lines of stating that if a person who accepted Jesus gift of salvation kills him or herself, they would then lose their salvation and go directly to Hell.”

That’s because you are correct. Also, is it possible to reach the point of absolute despair while in a relationship with Christ? Can a person believe and yet not believe at the same time? Would Jesus allow a person to reach this point?

I believe so.

Can a person believe and yet not believe at the same time? Would Jesus allow a person to reach this point?

I think this is a good question. Some of the answer I believe hinges on what your understanding of "believe" is.

The Bible shows us that there are at least two levels of belief. One level is a knowledge level. There are atheist historians who believe Jesus was a real person, but they don't believe in him to save their soul. In James 2:19 we see that "devils believe" in Jesus, but they aren't saved, because they have put their faith in Lucifer or Satan.

There is another level of belief and that is where you believe on faith in Jesus's saving grace. Ephesians says:

For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourself, it is a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.

There are many, many verses which tells us that belief in faith on Jesus = salvation.

1John 5:12-13 He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

So from the Bible I see that once a person believes in faith on Jesus, they are saved, period. There are times in a saved persons life where they drift away from communion with God and their knowledge level of Jesus falters, and they may even in those times kill themselves under a false illusion. While that is tragic, a sin, and not what God would want, that sinful action does not cause a person to lose their salvation. That is because our salvation isn't maintained by our level of acceptance of Jesus, our salvation is maintained by God's grace.
