Matthews Calls Cheney an Ankle Biter, Backtracks on West Point 'Enemy Camp' Claim
Newsbusters ^ | December 2, 2009 | Jeff Poor

There's something about these big events that cause MSNBC "Hardball" host Chris Matthews to go off script and say something seemingly ridiculous.

Matthews has publicly admitted President Barack Obama has given him a thrill up his leg after a campaign speech in Feb. 2008, and uttered "oh God," earlier this year after an Obama address to Congress, prior to the Republican response from Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal earlier this year. And on Dec. 1, he referred to West Point as "the enemy camp" in coverage following a speech from Obama announcing his intentions to increase troops in Afghanistan. And, later that night - Matthews took a shot at former Vice President Dick Cheney (emphasis added).

"The president said tonight that we're fighting in Afghanistan because al Qaeda is in Pakistan," Matthews said. "Is that what this is all about? Is that why we're fighting and some are dying in Afghanistan? To deliver the message to the government over in Pakistan to fight harder against al Qaeda. It sounds more Rube Goldberg than ‘Remember the Alamo.' Also try tonight to workout whether the president's goals in Afghanistan are achievable. Are they? And of course, there's always Dick Cheney who jumped it from under his bridge to bite the president's ankle even before he made the speech tonight."

Being a right-wing conservative I was no big fan of the Bush-Cheney administration.

Having said that, Chris Matthews is a complete and utter left wing nincompoop who has some type of sexual fixation on Brack Obummer. Whenever he sees or hears him he gets flashes up his leg towards his groin area.

We should declare a mile-wide exclusion zone along the entire Af/Pak border, and blow up anything in that zone that is warmer than the surrounding terrain. Then we should start dropping mines. Lots and lots of mines.

Once it becomes impossible to cross from Pakistan back into Afghanistan, we should tell the Pakis that the terrorists on their side of the border are their problem, and they can deal with them, or not, as they see fit.

Then we can take care of business on our side of the border, and chase down the Talibunnies, who will suddenly have no place to hide.

I guess I don't understand all the controversy about the “enemy camp” comment, since it is true. The cadets in the audience have chosen to sacrifice, struggle, sweat, and if necessary lay down their life for their country. Given zero's attitude, temperament, and record, I would definitely say he is among his enemy.

Every time his ugly puss shows up on my TV, he's also definitely in enemy territory.

Note to Chrissy. Dick doesn’t bite ankles. He does his best work with a shotgun.

One thing about the left being in power -

they start to tell the truth about what they really believe, thinking that the majority of the country believes the same way.

Obama would have to look up Duty, Honor, Country in the dictionary. You might think he would know the definition of country but there would be 57 reasons why you would be wrong.

The hypocrisy of little Chrissy calling anyone an ankle biter is positively hysterical.

MAYBE?!?

This time Chrissy is almost half right. To call West Point the “enemy camp” is to declare Obama an enemy of America. In that Crissy may have a point.

Maybe if Comcast takes control they will discover they have losers in Matthews, Olbermann, Maddow and Schultz.

“”We should declare a mile-wide exclusion zone along the entire Af/Pak border, and blow up anything in that zone that is warmer than the surrounding terrain. Then we should start dropping mines. Lots and lots of mines.””

I think it would work. We should obliterate that entire area - wipe them out on their way back into Pakistan or on their way out - who cares what direction they’re going? That will assure they won’t be coming back. I know it’s a heck of a long border but why wouldn’t it work? Why can’t it be done from the air as it was in Bosnia? Ours and allied troops can’t go there in the winter and we don’t want to send them to be slaughtered anyway. It’s going to be months before 0’s plan is put into effect. Probably 6-8 months to get our guys there, pull out in 18 months leaves 10 months to wrap it up - what a genius!! The caves on that border must be rocking in laughter.
