Boxer: Climategate hackers should face criminal prosecution
Digital Journal ^ | Dec 2, 2009 | Michael Krebs

Posted on 12/02/2009 5:44:15 PM PST by ricks_place

Senator Boxer reacts to the 'climategate' question on leaked emails that appear to suppress the scientific process of peer review, saying hackers should face criminal prosecution.

While it is true that computer system hacking is a very serious crime, the content of the email strings from the University of East Anglia exposed in the "climategate" scandal that has since led to the temporary resignation of the university's central climate scientist may very well point to a more devastating crime - one of scientific fraud in the face of wide-ranging global economic legislation.

However, Senator Barbara Boxer - the lead Democrat on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee - believes the criminal focus should remain on the hackers themselves and not on the material uncovered. "You call it 'Climategate'; I call it 'E-mail-theft-gate,'" Boxer said, according to The Hill. "Whatever it is, the main issue is, Are we facing global warming or are we not? I'm looking at these e-mails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public."

"While it is true that computer system hacking is a very serious crime,"

You know what else is a "very serious crime"? Leaking classified national intelligence reports to the New York Times happens to be a very serious crime. Did dipsh!t Boxer ever care about that?

If it gores my ox then it’s bad. If it gores your ox then it’s good.

MS Boxer needs to wash her mouth out with soap and get a good spanking from the people of California for foisting this sham scheme to defraud the people of the world.

Can you say Tar and Feathers?

There was no hacker, there was a whistleblower.
It was an inside job.

And Boxer surely knows this.
What an ass she is.

So far as anyone knows, the hacker(s) are persons unknown, probably in Russia since that is where the emails first appeared. Should we send someone to explain to the lovely and talented Ms. Boxer that her non-existent law enforcement powers do not extend beyond our borders?

Indict the Warmists for conspiracy to defraud humanity.
Additional penalties for those who are doing it under the color of legal authority.
Senator Boxofrocks is now involved in trying to cover up the fraud.

Faking results, juggling data, outright lying? Those aren't criminal? Especially since those phony studies have been the basis for public policies that have cost taxpayers billions.

These guys should never stain the name of science again.

It must be tough being a hard core socialist.

People wouldn’t accept socialism on its merits, and every attempt to get people to accept socialism in disguise has failed.

A perfect solution arose when the socialists found out they could use science to prove the eminent end of the world is here unless we adopt socialism. Except—people aren’t buying that story, either.

What’s a socialist to do?

That occured to me too. These liberals were happy to have info. leaked that could be used against Bush and Republicans. Now that there is a leak that is devastating to liberals, now they want criminal prosecutions.

Just remember to call her “Senator” Boxer. Never call her “ma’am” as a form of respect. She worked hard to earn the title of United States Senator.

I very much doubt Boxer is worried that the law was broken when these files were made public.

NO she is ticked that this will have a negative impact on the probability that the Tax and Trade bill will become law.

There were millions to be made in the market that was to be set up for trading CO2 credits.

Boxer and friends were no doubt going to be insiders in the CO2 trading corporation.

She is ticked because all of her plans are in jeopardy. She has to be in cover you’re a$$ mode now and she is not happy.
