A Month in the life of George W. Bush ( News and photos) Debember 2009
White House Archives ^ | December 3, 2009

Posted on 12/03/2009 6:41:04 PM PST by Kaslin

First of all my apologies for being so late to post the monthly Sanity Island. I got started late and and that put me behind

It’s almost 11 month since President Bush has left office. There goes no day by that I wished he were still in the White House. No matter though he is still my President and will always be as long as I live.

Today I will post photos from December 2001 and 2002, and tomorrow from 2003 and 2004

For the quote of the day I have chosen the address President Bush gave to the Marines at Camp Pendelton on December 4, 2004. I will only post the first two paragraphs and will post the link to the entire address

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

Hmmm.........I'll have to think about that, Deb. Between the two of us (or among ALL of us, I should say), we can certainly come up with something, I should think!

Just got back from meeting Rob Portman. MAN, is he impressive!

Our local VERY conservative Republicans are mega impressed with him. So many others in Congress go to DC and become corrupted, but he's already been there and stayed the same. Honorable!

He is a GOOD guy (with an amazing handshake - practically reinjured my bad shoulder! lol!)

I’ve always liked Rob Portman — he’s a genuinely ‘good’ man, which is why he and GWB get along so well!!

. . . still brainstorming!

GMTA, Deb. :) I was thinking that exactly as I listened to him last night. His genuine goodness came through. He is just who we need to replace the weeping Voinovich.

I’m not sure if we can post photos from the linked site, but I want to say I really enjoyed all of the photos and I am so delighted to see the “ mosaic of St. Peter’s square given to President George W. Bush by Pope Benedict XVI during the Pope’s visit to Washington, DC in 2008” is included!

I readon FB that oWf is away for a special reason, but I’m really excited to just now read that she met Rob Portman! I’m a member of his FB page :) I like him very much and I sure hope he win wins Voinovich’s seat. I’m far from Rich, but I’m going to send him a donation after the first of the year.

Thanks for the two wonderful links, DrDeb.

~~What a difference a year makes ........ PING!

Come back, President Bush! (and have
a very Merry Christmas and blessed and
safe New Year with your loved ones.)

Best wishes for a joyful Merry Christmas
a peaceful, safe and healthy New Year to
all the Dosers!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Given what we’ve experienced over the past year from the new president - from apologies for America to decisions to add trillions to the deficit and debt and nationalize health care and regulate carbon dioxide and bring Khalid Shaikh Mohammed to New York for trial to failing to improve the unemployment picture - Mr. Bush is looking better and better.
Was he perfect? No. Did he make mistakes? Yes, he did, just as all presidents do. But in retrospect, many who derided him are realizing that the presidency is hard, and he did the best he could - and that was pretty good.
Mr. Bush was right. Do you miss him yet? Me too.”
Thanks, DrDeb!
I love the closing of the library article:
"She’s cataloging the nearly 4 million images taken by the White House’s staff of five photographers.
"We were with the president from the time he walked into the Oval in the morning until the time he put the lid on at the nighttime," Steck said.
"We shot a lot more video than any other presidency," she said "And more photos because of digital cameras."
But one presidential courtesy lived on through all the changes in technology.
"President Bush wanted everyone he shook hands with to have a photo," Steck said. "That was very important to him that they have that moment when they were with the president of the United States. If he met you and shook your hand, you got a hand-signed photo."
I use to look forward to Barney Cam every year. It is hard having the Obamas in the White House after having such a classy couple for 8 years.
44 per cent of people want Bush back in the White House. That day only 42% of people approved of Obama’s job. See, President Bush is more popular than Obambi. Don’t be afraid of talking about President Bush on your posts — there are many of us who love him, and miss him!
I am avoiding tv these days and spending time looking at ten year old videos.
Tonight I watched Tim Russert’s gotcha Meet the Press interview with Governor Bush followed by the Iowa Presidential Debate.
GWB was clearly a winner among the rest of the pack. It is so interesting to see with the hindsight of history, how his answers to Russert and Brokaw were true to his actions when he reached the White House.
