This is kind of like asserting executive privilege to block disclosure of the White House chef’s recipe file. Even lefties can’t believe it:

I thought executive privilege was for reasons of counseling and policy advice. Social secretaries don’t seem to fit either of those.
What did the social secretary know and when did she know it?
The SS is an Executive Branch agency - this is O’s problem.
Congress really needs to stay out of it. They are the Legislative Branch.

From what I gathered....it’s just for matters of ‘policy’, etc. NOT for this. I hope to HELL they issue a subpoena. I heard that the investigative board is taking time off until next week. No telling what ‘wheeling and dealing’ will go on until that time.

Such was my experience with Vernon Jarrett, an African American journalist in Chicago who died at the age of 86 on May 23. I became a Vernon Jarrett addict, and I am proud of it!
Vernon Jarrett’s career as a journalist in Chicago began and ended at the Chicago Defender, the African American daily paper. In between, he was the first Black journalist at the Chicago Tribune, and I first began to read his articles during his tenure at the Chicago Sun-Times
Jarrett’s claim to fame is that he was a partisan of the cause of African Americans in the broad democratic tradition of Paul Robeson and W.E.B. DuBois...
Robeson and DuBois were both Communist Party members. On April 9th, 1998 at Chicago’s South Shore Cultural Center, Jarrett hosted a Paul Robeson Citywide Centennial Celebration event, with his old comrade and Party sympathiser Margaret Burroughs and former Communist Party members Studs Terkel and his old friend Oscar C.Brown.

Jarrett was fanatical about African Americans registering and voting in mass for socially conscious candidates. He championed Harold Washington like a great warrior, and this March, from his hospital bed, wrote an article appealing to Black Chicago to turn out to vote for Barack Obama in the Illinois primaries. Obama astounded everyone with an incredible landslide victory as the progressive, Black candidate for the Democratic Party nomination for the U.S. Senate seat from Illinois. From his sickbed, Vernon Jarrett issued a clarion call, and the people responded.
The Jarrett/Obama conection did not end with Vernon Jarrett’s death-it moved to a higher level with his famous daughter-in-law Valerie Jarrett.
A former Deputy Corporation Counsel for Finance and Development under Harold Washington, Jarrett continued to work in the mayor’s office into the 1990s.
In 1991, while Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Richard Daley, Jarrett hired Michelle Robinson, then engaged to Barack Obama.
Later Valerie Jarrett ran the finances for Obama’s 2004 Senate bid and served as treasurer of Obama’s HOPEFUND.
The relationship is more than professional-Jarrett is regarded as one of the Obamas’ closest friends and advisors.

“She’s always been the other side of Barack’s brain.” That’s how an Obama insider described Valerie Jarrett as an Obama campaign aide announced Thursday night the former CTA chief and current Habitat Co. CEO is taking on a larger role to help her close friend win his White House bid.
The development comes as Jarrett, a charter member of Sen. Barack Obama’s kitchen cabinet, has been formalizing her portfolio and stepping up the pace within the past few weeks as a top advisor within the campaign.
Though she will be part-time, Jarrett will be one of the most visible and powerful African-Americans in the top rungs of the Obama operation...
Today Valerie Jarrett serves as one of three Senior Advisors to President Obama. She is Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement, and Chairs the White House Commission on Women and Girls.
Would there be an Obama/Jarrett relationship today, if there had been no Frank Marshall Davis/Jarrett connection through the Communist Party of post war Chicago?

people have been trying to delve into Obama’s secrets for almost a year now and getting nowhere. Obama knows he cannot be forced to divulge anything . He is the KIng.

One theory:
It’s all about PR and branding. Michelle will be on Bravo’s Top Chef in January. So obviously there’s a relationship already established between the Obama’s and Bravo.
Bravo was filming the crashers at the salon all day as she got ready. They said she was there for about 7 hours. She went directly from the salon to the event. The crashers seemed very confident that they would get in.
So if Rogers with her branding and Axelrod with his PR may have wanted to get Obama, Emmanuel and Biden’s mugs in front of Bravo’s demos on their upcoming Real Housewives of DC. So while they weren’t officially on the guest list, Michelle’s office knew they were coming. Photos were taken with Obama, Emmanuel and Biden and posted on Facebook.
The previous Social Secretary mentioned that there are times when someone was accidently omitted from the guest list. The staff along with Secret Service would communicate and coordinate in case someone was left off the list be accident, they could still be admitted to the party.
The snag came when the WP reporter Roxeanne Roberts noticed that when the couple was introduced, they weren’t on the list. She immediately questioned Michelle Obama’s staff, Courtney O‘Donnell and Katie McCormick about the couple not being on the list. They said they would check on it, but never got back to her.
The crashers received horrible publicity and when Gibbs was asked about the couple, he said they were never on the list and were never intended to be on the list. Theory goes, they weren’t officially on the list, BUT they were approved to be there. Gibbs could have said they weren’t officially on the list, but that was an error and they were suppose to be there. They weren’t crashers. But it didn’t. He blamed the Secret Service. It wasn’t until Chris Matthews interviewed WP reporter Roberts that it was exposed that Michelle Obama’s staff knew as early as 7:35 pm that they were allowed in without being on the list. And it’s snowballed from there due to Gibbs stating they were never suppose to be there. And if Rogers testifies, she will have to address when was she first aware that the crashers were allowed in, while not being on the list. Her staff knew as early as 7:35.
It seems very odd that the crashers would get such up close and personal photos of Obama, Biden and Emmanuel...maybe they wanted their pics on the Bravo show, Real Housewives of DC.
Matthews: Let‘s move on. Clearly, the Secret Service is taking a hit here. But is this a White House issue, too? Where were the White House staff the other night? And why weren‘t they stationed at every checkpoint, like they used to be?
ROBERTS: ... misidentified them, but I didn‘t think so. And I said, Can you tell me why they‘re not on the list? And she said, I don‘t know, but I‘ll try to find out. And I didn‘t hear anything for the rest of the evening.
And the reason I think that‘s important is that even after they got inside the White House, the staff had two opportunities to go upstairs to the reception, discreetly pull this couple aside and verify that they were supposed to be there. I don‘t know what time they went through the receiving line, but if they had any ill intention toward the president...
ROBERTS: I talked to two members of the first lady‘s staff.
MATTHEWS: And who were they?
ROBERTS: Courtney O‘Donnell and Katie McCormick.
Basically this whole thing was an orchestrated publicity stunt crafted by Obama and it backfired. Instead of just coming out and admitting that he was trying to use his position as President to also be come a reality t.v. star and that it was a mistake, he throws the Secret Service under the bus and conducts a cover up. Obama is truly the biggest embarrassment this country has ever known.
Sounds about right. Their branding and desire to appear ‘cool’ by being on Bravo’s shows, pictures of the Obama, Emmanuel and Biden in tuxes, partying and appearing on Bravo’s shows gives them Hollywood cred.
The Housewives series get desirable demo’s and maybe it’s also a shout out to the gay crowd. Also, Michelle being on Top Chef gives her the cool vibe of being known as a foodie.
They should continue to investigate this. It seems like they were okay with the crashers being at the party, they just didn’t want their names officially on the list.
The reporter is the snag because they can’t even claim they didn’t know about it, as she is on record that she informed Mrs Obama’s staff as early as 7:35. Why can’t they just admit that their idea of branding is getting on Real Housewives. If that’s the what happened. Maybe they would be embarrassed that they WANTED to be on the show, if that’s what happened.
