They’re doing it right in our faces. Just because they can.

With two pro-abortion Republicans expected to defect ...

Lemme guess, the 2 female dogs from Maine. I think in the end these 2 will vote for the nationalization of health care.

With the Weak Sisters defecting, the pro-life amendment is certain to fail.

Sent this to Senators on both sides of the aisle:

A teenager sings her plea to Obama not to kill her grandma. What is this girl’s grandma worth? Senator Landrieu got $300 Million in exchange for grandma. What is your price for grandma’s life?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8IH835-0no

Here are the words to this young girls song:
LYRICS
Oh, Obama
Please don’t kill my grandma
Oh, Obama,
Please don’t kill my grandma

Oh, Obama, oh
With this healthcare plan
I’m not letting
My money go

Oh, Obama, I’m singin’
Single-payer’s not your thing?
That wasn’t your play in ‘03
Please, Mr. President,
Don’t lie
To me

Oh, Obama,
Please don’t kill my grandma
Oh, Obama,
Please don’t kill my grandma

Oh, Obama, oh
Don’t tell Pops
That he’s gotta go
When you say Obamacare
I say no

When you say Change
I say change your healthcare plan!

Oh, Obama,
Please don’t kill my grandma
Oh, Obama,
Please don’t kill my grandma
Oh, Obama,
Please don’t kill my grandma
Oh, Obama,
Please don’t kill my grandma

It is not such a bad thing if the anti-abortion amendment fails. Here is why.

In the first place, this could hang up the Senate for quite some time and will keep Ben Nelson and any other like minded Dems on the hook. Who knows, it might fail right here.

If the senate version somehow passes without the anti-abortion amendment, it will create delay and difficulty during the reconciliation process. Because of the Stupak amendment, more negotiation will be required to reconcile the differences. A reconciled bill would likely retain abortion funding and Stupak et al will have to make a difficult choice. The bishops and pro-lifers will apply pressure for him to stand up to Pelosi.

Now, suppose the Senate adopted the anti-abortion amendment before reconciliation. With this thorny issue settled, it stands to reason that final passage would be easier and faster. Pro-life supporters could rejoice and some (like some Catholic bishops) would actually support the health care bill. At least a bad bill was made better, right?

Wrong. Don’t think for a second that this ends abortion funding. Schumer, Durbin Debbie Wasserman, all the other Marxists are masters at deception. Final rules will be created based on the legislation. The final bill will be over 2000 pages and the rules will probably be over 10,000 pages. I’m sure we will have some squishy language that provides for “women’s health” (abortion funding). Of course, liberal bureaucrats at the 0bama HHS and liberal judges will interpret that this bill does indeed include abortion.

At least if the health care bill passes, we will have more ammunition and support from the pro-life cause and the bishops. We will need this support for state nullification fights and the 2010 and 2012 elections.

The Republicans must allow enough members to vote present to avoid the 60 vote threshold.

This is about strategy not philosophy. If you are pro-life, kill the bill!
