During a year-long gambling binge at the Caesars Palace and Rio casinos in 2007, Terrance Watanabe managed to lose nearly $127 million, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The run is believed to be one of the biggest losing streaks by an individual in Las Vegas history. It devoured much of Watanabe's personal fortune, he says, which he built up over more than two decades running his family's party-favor import business in Omaha, Neb. It also benefitted the two casinos' parent company, Harrah's Entertainment Inc., which derived about 5.6 percent of its Las Vegas gambling revenue from Watanabe that year.

A plot? Hello - what is the purpose of gambling businesses in general (regardless of if it is a casino, horse/dog track, lottery, bingo, etc.)? Is it to give away money? Of course not - it is to TAKE YOUR MONEY.

Las Vegas loves losers, especially big losers.
I’ll bet they treated him...ahem... VERY well over the course of that year.
Whenever, I hear someone brag about well they were treated in Vegas, I ask, “Well, how much did you leave there?”
First time I was in Vegas, I looked at the Strip and thought “They don’t pay the light bill by giving money away.”
Whoever goes to Vegas to “win” has already lost before even starting. They even have the power to ban people who regularly win (they call them “cheaters”)! How much more do people have to know before learning the lesson?
A wise man once said to me, “If you’re looking for sympathy, you can look in the dictionary between sh-t and syphilis, ‘cause you ain’t gettin’ any from me.”
So there ya go.
Vegas hates me, I’m the skin-flint that enjoys the free shows, eats the cheap buffets and stays in the cheap rooms.
I got my schooling with my little brother when I re-located to take a job in Washington. We were going to stay at the Tropicana and were in line to check in. For reasons unknown, there was a guy in front of us crying like a baby. He was filling out the form in triplicate, where he had taken a loan out against his house. He was crying “How am I going to tell my wife?” as he signed the forms.
That was a very sobering and life changing event. My brother and I both felt a little ill as we checked in. I think everyone should experience an event like that. I honestly don’t know why the Tropicana chose to do that in a public area, as I would have thought it would be done in a more private location. But, I was cured of the gambling addiction before I placed my first bet.
He should have bet the black.
I’ve ordered many times from the Oriental Trading Co.
