I’m off one antibiotic—hooray, no more pump to wear 24/7. Lots of fluid still in my arm, legs and belly. hard to breathe at times. creatnine level at 2.2; drainage from kidney, having to wear a bag all the time—arrrgh. ptay I stay out of the hospital and that fluid comes off with all the lasix.

Mary, have you found any psalms or other passages from the Bible that have particularly helped you in your journey through this? I have a few favorites, but I don’t know the bible as well as I should. Are there any particular stories/books that help you keep faith in the face of these obstacles? Don’t worry if you don’t feel up to answering, I completely understand. Adding Quix & Joya to this post for their suggestions as well. All are welcome to make suggestions!

Any thoughts about ancestral stuff as it has to do with adoption? Would one be susceptible to both families histories with this stuff - or is it more of an environmental thing where you would be more susceptible to these things through close contact with the adoptive family (families?). Just curious.
I wonder if some of the methods of recovering from these things can be applied if you don’t know if it’s happened (like through my birth family). I’m pretty darn sure my adoptive father was very susceptible to this kind of thing given his history of abusiveness and the other things that happened in his life... It just makes sense because he was not an alcoholic, or drug user - so psychological and/or spiritual factors in his behavior are the only explanations, really.
