Yep, and why the Catholics here don’t realize they’re on hostile ground is beyond me. Bigoted trash is casually posted about us and Mormons and the offenders are routinely ignored and encouraged. Solid, faithful conservatives, Christian conservatives even, who happen to think evolution is good science are routinely mocked and banned. Makes lots of sense - not.

Bigoted trash

You mean like saying that we Protestants have no chance without bowing to Rome? What a pant load!

Well you're a little confused. FR and the RM have set it up so that religion threads can proceed along undisturbed if they like, or they can be open to full blown debate. It makes for a hearty and healthy discourse. Maybe people even learn something.

Of course, the losing party (can't defend their theological views with any substance) tend to get hostile and revert to childish accusations. Haters is my favorite, and certainly inappropriate considering most of us have relatives and friends of just about every persuasion

If I may, it seems the Evos start out with some sacred cow biases. One is that spiritually inclined folks are all anti-science, fearful of new things, and adamantly anti- intellectual.

They tend to think we didn't get out of the 8th grade, all live in Bill Clinton's Arkansas, and believe whatever our parents told us to believe.

Most people here that I know are nothing like that, from the Catholics to the Mormons, to the AOG, the Presbyterians, and the Jewish believers, the Buddhists, Hindu, and Zionist Conspirator who is unique unto himself, and from what I can see, well thought of around here.

If you want science, Alamogirl and bettyboop have posted threads that venture into such subjects as particle physics, and beyond, which most of us follow quite well, appreciating the complexity with which they can tie science to theology.

We choose not to believe in evolution or we choose to believe in it. It really does come down to a respect for one's beliefs, and evolution is just another belief, an opinion. If we choose to believe differently, others must respect that and no more force it upon us and our children than one would force Islam upon us
