The expansive asphalt parking lot in Fair Lakes Shopping Center in Fairfax Virginia was full and there wasn't a single Prius in sight. This is SUV territory and the campaign sticker on the back window of one big Ford summed up the mood: a play on the Obama campaign mantra of hope, this one said simply - "Nope".
There are not too many Obama fans in Fairfax but there are hundreds of people prepared to line up for hours in the snow for a chance to meet the one political figure they believe might still be able to rescue the nation from "socialised medicine", "Liberal intellectuals" and "elitist" newspapers like the New York Times.
Sarah Palin's book Going Rogue is the publishing sensation of the moment here.

Without McCain around her neck dragging her down...Sure.
i doubt it...
YES! Sarah’s leading the Conservative wing of the GOP and leading the defense of America against MAO-bama’s marxism.
I like her but don’t think she could win. That would mean 4 more years of hussein.
If not Sarah, who?
I think Hussein will not make a full term he is gonna go bonkers before this is over and spend the rest of his failed life at trembling hills
“Can Sarah Palin lead US Republicans to victory?”
She absolutely could. She is exactly what this country needs in a position of authority.
Trouble is, for her to get into the White House, she would have to overcome the more or less complete control of our voting/electoral process by the demons (Democrat/Communist/OneWorlders) that swung the election last time.
This time they own the government.
How are we going to get our candidate into the White House?
I really like Sarah Palin. That being said, I am not so sure she could win. While it is true, Obama has lost his luster, Palin is an equally divisive figure in polls. As a result I am not sure she could win. To be honest, I really don’t know a single Republican at the moment who could win. I’ve seen some polls saying that Huckabee could win, but frankly, I’m not sure he is better than Obama, if possible, he could be worse (for other reasons of course).
..yes—but the GOP establishment says no
Looks like some have bit on the Liberal propaganda re Palin.
No other wannabees can draw the crowds and has the support
as Sarah Palin.
ditto... but i would vote for her...
Anyone who says:
“it won’t bring you any closer to actually knowing what Sarah Palin’s specific policy positions might be in any future tilt at political office”
has missed the entire point of the book.
Are you unaware of the 4 police officers that were killed by someone that Huck pardoned about 3 weeks ago? You can’t believe that he is electable after that...
I don’t think he is electable and even if he was, he would be a disaster. But unfortunately a lot of Republicans do (or did) based on some polls.
She is as polarizing to them as Ronald Reagan was.
