Bill Clinton was re-elected in ‘96 because the GOP ‘94 congressional victory forced Clinton to the middle, Dick Morris's triangulation strategy got Clinton signed up for bipartisan welfare reform, and the economy was decent. Simple as that.
Then, of course, there was Clinton's charismatic opponent, John McCain's cousin Bob Dole. LOL.”

Yes.
On top of that, Clinton was still at 56% approval after his first year. 0bozo is already hitting between 44 and 46% approval the end of his first year. He is running at over 10% lower in approval ratings than Clinton did at the end of his first year. That doesn't bode well for 0bozo.
Like you pointed out, if 0bozo then has to face a highly charismatic figure like Sarah Palin in 2012, as compared to the comatose Robert Dole that Clinton faced, 0bama is going to find out what a real fight is like.

The GOP has another smooth talker waiting in the wings, Slick Willard Romney. The establishment wants him bad, so it's gonna be a fight for the nomination.

Having conservative supporters like Jim DeMint, who says Mittens "lights up a room" doesn't help. I hope people like DeMint come to their senses between now and 2012. Conservatives need all hands on deck.
