You have to marvel at the psychology. Taking your child’s favorite toy and smacking him with it. I can just imagine my mother chasing me around the house with a playstation controller cord :D
If my kids were slow to pick up their toys and put them away I would say "five" and they would scramble as fast as they could to get them to put them away. I never got to "four."
I got that response by telling them that they had five seconds to start picking up their toys. After that I would put them (the toys, of course) in the trash.
I never had to follow through with the threat. They knew my word was my bond.
