You are correct in that they only needed 51 votes to pass the bill. That was the vote on Christmas Eve. However, once the bill comes back to the senate either from conference or from a direct house vote there will be another cloture vote requiring 60 votes. This will be the last chance to kill it. So finding at least 1 more Senator is very important.

The pressure should be put upon Nebraska's Ben Nelson to resign. We should be taking a page from the enemy's playbook and examining every crack and crevice of his life. There has to be more scandal there awaiting discovery.

The only way to avoid another cloture vote is for the House to simply pass the Senate bill. That is not very likely to happen. If they can’t do that by Jan 19, just think what the house Dems will do about that vote if a Republican was just elected in Massachusetts in Teddy’s old seat. That vote will rock the political world in more ways than anyone can imagine.

You’re right! We have to eliminate Paul Kirk’s vote (the anointed one that was put in to keep Kennedy’s seat warm so that this health care sham was passed)with Scott Brown’s vote. Coakley is nothing but a rubber stamp for anything that Obama and the Dems touch. Let’s give them a preview of what is coming in Nov. 2010 by electing Scott Brown (R) the next U.S. Senator from MA.
