According to a federal counterterrorism official, Abdulmutallab has told authorities in preliminary interviews that he met with Al Qaeda operatives in Yemen to collect the chemical components for the device and learn how to use it. Authorities also said that Abdulmutallab appears in government records as a terrorism suspect, though he was not on the Transportation Safety Authority's "no-fly" list. http://www.nationalreview.com/onthenews/?q=NmRiM2I4YWVhMTNiNzUyYTg4YjM5YjJmZDE3YTZkNGM=

Peter King was just on CNN again. He said he was told Abdul was not on the no-fly list because his terrorist ties were not aviation related. I kid you not.
Jeanne Meserve, a reporter for CNN, said she was told by U.S. officials that their files on Abdul indicate he was not a trained hardcore al Qaeda operative, that it was more likely his cellphone number turned up in terrorist investigation.
