I sense a pattern here.

"For years more people have fled the Golden State than have arrived. In the year ended July 1, California was the country's biggest loser, with nearly 100,000 more residents leaving than moving in."

Sadly, we all lose when Californians move out of their state. Especially sparsely populated rural states.

Yes, I know there are many good Californians. That doesn't change the fact that your state is a socialist monster.

Happy to be a part of New York’s statistic.

The problem is, WHERE they are moving to....bringing with them a lifetime of liberal indoctrination and lifestyle, then trying to "change things" at their destination to be "more like home".

I've seen it hundreds of times down South. They move in and immediately start bitching about the way we live down here, and want to change it to suit them.

They don't get it that IF we wanted to live they way they want, we would've moved UP THERE a long time ago...but we don't.

Liberals are like cockroaches, they move to whereever the food supply is, consume it, and then move to the next pile.

Let’s give the liberals one state - say, North Dakota. They can go there, institute free health care, housing, food, and automobiles; no guns, no-profit companies, no carbon footprint (trading not allowed - in other words, no carbon footprint whatsoever), full retirement benefits from the government, minimum wage of $100 per hour...you get the picture. That would be fun to watch! (My apologies to all North Dakotans. I lived there three years.)

MICHIGAN - "The big problem, of course, is the ailing auto industry. Michigan's unemployment rate was the highest in the county in November, at 14.7%."

Yes, of course the root cause of the problem is the auto industry.

Perhaps an inquiring reporter might ask why the auto industry is ailing?

The numbers for CA would be much worse if the numbers only included citizens.

These numbers are not the whole story. Here’s the numbers on a population basis on the number leaving per 10,000 people in the population:

CA 27 per 10K people
NY 50 per 10K people
MI 87 per 10K people
IL 37 per 10K people
OH 31 per 10K people

Clearly the most disgusting state in which to live is New York, based on the rate of escape being the highest.

“Ohio is another Rust Belt state going through economic turmoil, much of it tied to the auto industry.”

That’s a rather superficial analysis. Industries grow and industries shrink. This has always been the case. The real story is why nothing new ever comes to N.E. Ohio.

And the answer is the adversarial attitude towards business here.

Until that changes (and it won’t happen in my life time), things will continually get worse here.

Hey, maybe that’s why I’m a pessimist!

New Jersey
Trenton

• Don't mess with Texas: More Americans moving in
Net loss: 31,690 residents

Like its next-door neighbor, New Jersey has been a Mecca for foreign in-migration.

That helped save the Garden State in the year ended July 1, when it posted its best showing since 2002, with just 32,000 more people abandoning the state than adopting it. That compares with almost 77,000 in 2006, it's worst showing of the decade.

Yes ILLEGAL IMMIGANTS love it here! We fund everything for them. Walk into any post office and you'll see them with wads on money like a gas station attendant. They send it back to Mexico - tax free!

Some cities like Newark, Trenton and Camden are war zones. SHHHH even cops don't want to go into that jungle. We wink at crime.

Yes sireee if you can MOVE OUT OF NEW JERSEY!

Even with Christie in there as governor the state is still run by RINOS and Demoncrats and is VERY corrupt. Most of our government official are under indictment or in prison.

The state depends upon foreign migration for its population growth

In CA, I suspect there is a correlation between the illegal immigration and the people leaving the state.

Unfortunately, California through illegal aliens in the census count, has 6 more congressmen than they deserve.

Due to California’s numbers and Electoral College bloc voting, Democrats start every presidential election with 20% of the required votes in their pockets without even needing to spend a dime out there to compete.

The “people” leaving CA are the same as cancer cells speading from a malignant tumor. The metastasis of political liberalism....

I don’t know where California’s expatriates are moving, but New Yorkers and other New England liberals are laying waste to Virginia, North Carolina and other southern states.
