WBAP now reporting that TSA says it up to airlines to set inflight restrictions. One clip has a transportation consultant saying the restrictions are only reactive — if you say you can’t have anything in your lap the last hour before landing, a potential bomber will set a bomb off 1 1/2 hours before landing.

American Airlines announced earlier today that they will no longer provide blankets and pillows to passengers. Why am I suspicious that they are just using this as an excuse to save money?

Any time I’ve had the privelege of greeting the pilot and/or co-pilot as I deboarded at the end of the flight, my words have always been the same (for the last few years anyway). “Thank you for a non-eventful flight”. They seem to appreciate that.
