Try this sometime: Take a picture of whatever it is you want to paint or draw. Print it out and turn it upside down on a stand in front of you, then draw/paint it on you pad or canvas. You’ll probably discover that your “copy” of the picture will be extremely detailed as opposed to if you had drawn it in the normal perspective.............

Turning your painting up side down and looking at it is a technique for discovering what is wrong with it. I don’t do that because I can tell what is not correct by looking away from my painting and then glancing back at it from a distance of maybe 15 feet. Mistakes in the drawing, the design or the values will jump out at me.
