I don't see how the judge could have ruled differently, given the mother had defied the court and cut off all access to the other mother. Once you go down the path of gay marriage, er, uh, excuse me, "civil unions" this is where you end up.

How does that even compute? I agree that by "recognizing/condoning" homosexual unions, the justice system will reap the whirlwind, but why not use some gender neutral terms that do not conflict with nature and common sense.

Spousal unit, coupling member, or parental partner all are preferable to calling a woman-never-having-conceived "mother"; otherwise is nonsense.
