Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson may get burned in his next election by the health care debate, regardless of how he ultimately votes for the Democrats' reform package, but he may be better off opposing it, a new poll shows.
Under intense pressure to fall in line with the rest of the Democratic caucus in the Senate, moderate Ben Nelson finally voted to end a Republican filibuster on the health care bill after cutting a deal to pay for an expansion of Medicaid in Nebraska with federal rather than state dollars. However, only 17 percent of Nebraska voters approve of the deal, according to a new Rasmussen poll.
Meanwhile, as many as 64 percent of Nebraska voters oppose the health care overhaul, including 53 percent who are strongly opposed -- and they may take it out on Nelson when he runs for re-election in 2012.

I would like to have the names of the 17%! Morons.
He’ll be one of up to nine DEM Senators to ultimately vote no ...
So, then he will try to convince the voters in Nebraska that he was against it, hoping that they will forget that he voted to invoke cloture in the first place ...
I think we’re going to enjoy the 2010 elections.
Also, the govt.-run health bill is not a done deal until it’s on Obama’s desk. We’ve been pushing it back since Obama wanted it passed on Aug. 1; then again when Obama wanted it by Labor Day, etc., so let’s continue to do push it back some more.
maybe it will be less when Nebraska has a few hundred thousand dead-beats move in.
I Love It! Picture perfect!
Most excellent
Repubs need to run on a contract with America to get rid of special privileges - retirement (they shouldn’t be in office long enough to need it), gold plated health care, positions as lobbyists/consultants/committee members (Texas Lottery consultants appointed by the crook Ann Richards, at $500,000/yr. such as Ben Barnes and Lena Guerrero). This should include those already drawing these garish benefits. They should get social security and medicare. See how quick these programs get fixed then, LOL.
H I L A R I O U S!!!!
Thanks.
Thanks.
Apologize for the cynicism, but he will be re-elected.
Same with Lindsay Graham. He sold out on the deferment program. Watch where he ends up after public service ;-)
