Well said. I fully agree. The entire scientific enterprise is in danger of being discredited and becoming propagandistic. We are well on our way back to Nazi science, where science serves the interests of the Reich.
I don't think so. The Nazi guys were evil, and did a lot of inhuman things, but I've never heard that they "cooked" their data. This is more like Russian/Soviet science (Lysenkoism), where the state certifies the "truth" of the result, no matter how contradictory to reality it is.
