Given recent issues regarding transportation systems, an item like this could easily pass through a scanner if security screeners are not trained to look for them. Attacks onboard commercial aircraft on September 11, 2001 were conducted with blades smaller than this shown at left. Law Enforcement and Security Professionals should remain cognizant of items such as these. In cold weather suspects could easily conceal dangerous cutting weapons item like these in clothing.
